Career History

Pam has been working as a fine artist since graduating from Leicester Polytechnic in 1982. She has exhibited extensively locally (in her home town of Nottingham), nationally and internationally – in 1998, a solo exhibition in the prestigious TR/3 Gallery in Ljubljana, Slovenia, for which she gained a British Council Award; other international shows include Dallas, Midland (Texas), Vienna and Gothenburg. As a student, she had work selected and exhibited at The Royal Academy, London (Stowells Trophy), Exhibition. After graduating, she was soon showing her work in London shows – The Showroom, Lauderdale House and Coventry Gallery.

Pam has travelled widely. (She lived in Zambia, Southern Africa in the 1970's, where she taught art in a local government secondary school and took part in theatrical producations (acting).) In Year 2000, she travelled around the world singing with the 'Frontline Continentals' (Christian choir and band). She has, however, never lost touch with her roots in home town Nottingham.

She has kept a studio there since graduating, even during spells of living away in North and West Yorkshire (the former to teach art & design in Leeds middle schools, 1987-91, following on from her Postgraduate Certificate in Art & Design Education, with distinction, in 1987, and the latter, to undertake an M.A.in Fine Art at Bretton Hall, College of The University of Leeds, 1995-6.)

From 1982 onwards, Pam had the experience of teaching in further education (colleges and outcentres), primary and secondary education, leading art workshops and residencies in schools and the community, taking part in art markets and fairs and undertaking public and private commissions. More recently, Pam worked in a residential care home for the elderly as an activities co-ordinator, organising and providing daily activities and entertainment for residents, many of whom had Dementia /Alzheimer's Disease.
